![]() In my match example above, the photos are quite close and I’d be fine with keeping just one of them. The side by side comparison of matches is also quite useful to see if you want to remove photos that are not exact duplicates, but are close enough. While the program may seem like a use once application, I’ve run it a few times just to see if I missed anything. The process is quite simple and straightforward. Once you hit Trash Marked, PhotoSweeper opens Photos and moves the photos you marked to its own album and gives instructions on how to permanently remove the photos. The process takes awhile depending on the number of photos you are comparing, but most of the matches really are duplicates or close to being duplicates. You then walk through the groups of photos and select the ones to mark for deletion. I was amazed at the results as it found matches where the photos were scanned at different times, the color was different in them and sometimes the photos were cropped differently. The first time I ran it, I did a small sample just to see the results. The number of photos and your matching criteria determines how long the process will take. After you start, you see the blurred thumbnails of the photos as it goes through and does the comparisons. I selected a pretty loose matching criteria knowing that I would get a lot of matches. You then click Compare and select your options for comparison. In my case, I went ahead and selected all the photos. The first step in using PhotoSweeper is to select a bunch of photos. After a little while I stumbled upon PhotoSweeper and gave it a test drive. I knew that there were programs out there to find duplicates, so I started searching. ![]() The photos weren’t always of the same quality and I had to manually go through to pick the best one. Back in December when I was scanning in old photos, I found that I had some of the photos already in digital form leaving me with duplicates. ![]()

Changing the COLUMN_NAME value will change the name of the column in the created table. Note that if you change a column name, you do not need to change the name of the field in the row input documents. The Snap will automatically translate from the original name to the new name. The extra view in the Select and Bulk Load Snaps are used to pass metadata about the table, effectively allowing you to replicate a table from one database to another. If you would like the table to be created with the same schema as a source table, you can connect the second output view of a Select Snap to the second input view of this Snap. Wikipedia's publication of the test blots may unintentionally be the final nail in the coffin for Hermann Rorschach's idea.īenjamin Radford has a degree in psychology and is managing editor of the Skeptical Inquirer science magazine. It seems that the test has remained in use more out of tradition than good evidence. Lilienfeld and the other authors surveyed more than 50 years of research and studies on the scientific evidence for the Rorschach, concluding that it is "weak at best and nonexistent at worst."įurthermore, Lilienfeld and colleagues point out, studies show that about half of the normal Rorschach test-takers will be labeled as having " distorted thinking." This staggeringly high false-positive error rate (among many other problems) suggests that the Rorschach should be relegated to the pile of once-promising but now-discredited psychological tests. Scott Lilienfeld, an associate professor of psychology at Emory University and co-author of the 2003 book "What's Wrong with the Rorschach?" is one of many psychologists who doubts the validity of the test. The real concern should not be whether people might be able to cheat on the test, but whether or not the Rorschach is valid in the first place.Īfter all, if the test is worthless at diagnosing mental illness, assessing personality disorders, or predicting behavior, there is no point in "protecting" it. The furor over Wikipedia's posting of the Rorschach blots obscures a far more important issue. The therapist then interprets the person's answers. In the Rorschach inkblot test, the person is asked to describe what they see in ambiguous inkblot images. So the Rorschach images themselves are hardly top secret, though never so easily available. The Rorschach inkblot test is a type of projective assessment in which subjects look at 10 ambiguous inkblot images and describe what they see in each one.
